 Relapse vs. Sobriety Maintenance

Sobriety maintenance is a personal responsibility. When we invest in the recovery of another alcoholic we sometimes take credit for their successes, unconsciously! We want sobriety for them so badly that at times we are willing to work on their"issues" harder than they are willing to work! Then, when our sponsee experiences a relapse(returning to the addictive behavior of using) we feel as if we have failed ourselves. Today I had this experience! What did I do wrong, was my instant question? Reality is , I did nothing wrong! Codependency is a risk we take when we invest in the recovery of another alcoholic. It is imparitive that we recognize it for what it is and backup 3 steps to achieve a fresh perspective. We can want recovery for our charge however we must remain firm in the knowledge that(1, we did not cause their relapse. (2, we can not control their behaviors and (3, we are not their cure for addiction. Step 1, powerlessness! Lest we ever forget! God is God! I am not! Pray for them, encourage them, direct them and allow them to travel their own path! Happy New Years eve! Blog on!! www.acureforaddiction.com Mr. Denny

 Happiness, freedom, wealth! 12-29-05

The truth is that life is not easy and addicted folks fall into the delusion that they are owed " all their desires!" Where did the entitlement attitude come from and how did we get it? If you have that attitude you will fail to prosper in capitalist America! In recovery circles the adage, (Take what you like and leave the rest!)Is wonderful wisdom which has proven itself time and again! Here is the truth! In recovery, (my opinion) there is no free lunch! If we have reached the age of accountability we must accept it or become wards of the state and viewed as defective! BLAST!!! Lift up your heads into the real world and get a clue! Life is work and your goals are NOW closer than ever before! "PLAN YOUR WORK, WORK YOUR PLAN!" Work being the key word! If something you have does not work you consider it to be broke, correct? If you wont work, broke is what you choose to be! Get it?!!!
Make 'YOUR PLAN" AND GET TO IT! HAVE A BLAST, ENJOY LIFE, SMILE AND LAUGH AGAIN! If you think recovery is borish, dull with no thrill, you are not going to enough meetings!! The only thing funnier than a room full of drunks is one full of wealthy sober, happy and free recovering ones! Happy and a blessed new year to one and all!www.acureforaddiction.com Mr. Denny

 Patriots- listen up! 12-28-05

Saving the republic should be the goal of every citizen. Make no mistake, we are under pressure from external sources to make errors which will not only bankrupt our citizenry but lead to the ruin of our country. Consumerism is a new world religion that will end badly for our nation. In foreign lands the wealthy are those who live indoors, have regular meals 1-2 per day and electricity to operate modest possessions. Our culture has gone into so much debt with no thought of the consequence. When the reckoning comes, and it will, those who are not liquid will suffer needlessly. Learning to deprive yourself of petty passions will allow you "A WAY OUT OF DEBT!" Modest food, clothing and shelter is a blessing! When the reckoning comes, you will wish you had THAT! Addicted to debt, drugs, alcohol? See my (www.acureforaddiction.com) Guaranteed to help! I do what I can! Blessings to you and yours in the new year! BLOG ON! Mr. Denny

Good tuesday, 12-27-05 A theme to win with!

Most people who don't vote seem discouraged about the political process. The only way to change the process is from the inside. There is little that can be done from the outside. We can pray to God! We can encourage and advise our leaders who have the tenacity to step into the fray and those things are vitally important! We can raise funds and volunteer for the busy work, stuffing envelopes and hanging candidate literature on door knobs! Also vitally important.
Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well."
That is a useful life. Mine was in the addiction treatment field. I never got done! I loved my work and still do hence the title of the blog. If I can help, here I am! Have a good day everyone! Mr. Denny

Rich in "06", it takes hard work!

What is the definition of "rich?" Depending on your lifes position I guess! Those who have "position," and exploit it are able to accomplish more with their life purhaps than they originally intended?
Those of us born into no position must learn to cope with a lack of all things material. Growing up with a feeling of lack id very lonely, it just is. In my script @ www.acureforaddiction.com, groups will help each other! That is the plan.
A Very Merry Christmas to you all,(remember the reason for the season!) God died for us all!
This is not a judgemental work. It is an honest woek!
