Today I worked with 4 clients. I am amazed how little they expect from themselves. Goal setting is not a lost art, it is an unknown art. When recovery is achieved (no use of chemicals and comfortable not using-mostly) that is your recovery. What to do then? Set goals! Write your own story. What would you like to be when you grow up?
Hard to imagine that we have not set a course for our lives but many of us have been to busy seeking, obtaining, using and hiding the addiction to achieve our goals (if we had any to start with?) The clients are involved in the court system. They help me buy rice, clean drinking water and medicine for the orphanages we support in Asia. (You must do something in retirement!) My wife, Pamela, likes me busy! (Keeps me out of her hair! ) Ha!
Your goals must be 1)conceivable 2) believable 3)achievable. If they are? Get started! Plan your work and work your plan!
Good Health and Be Blest!
