Denial is as much a part of recovery as acceptance of the addiction itself! If the questions were never posed about our use of substances we would never have the chance to say"Not Me!" "I don't have a problem!"
People do not wake up in the morning and say to themselves,"Today, I think I will allege that Mary or Bill has a drinking problem!" Something had to cause the observation to be made! When we deny that a problem exists we have already been identified as a potential liability for the organization. The goal must then be"hide and suffer in silence" or prove to them how wrong they are! Regardless of our decision the reaction will further confirm the reality of our plight!
Admit that reality is what it is and begin the process of recovery before further damage or even death can occur. I lost a man to prison last week! Denial of the problem is what kills us! Call it what it is and recover! The sooner the better! Good Health and Be Blessed!
